Camp, also known as Pune Camp or Pune Cantonment, was established in 1918 to accommodate troops of the British Army. It continues to be a military cantonment with many such establishments. The area is easily accessible from commercial zones such as the East Street and MG Road.
Pune Cantonment is linked to other parts of the city through public transport buses which are operated by Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited. The NH 9 connects the area to Hyderabad and Solapur, and Machilipatnam. Autos are a popular travelling option here. The Pune Railway Station is 3.2 kilometres from here via the Colonel Tarapore Road. The Pune International Airport is 12.1 kilometres from here through the Airport Road.
The area’s electricity is supplied by the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited. The Pune Municipal Corporation provides water supply to the residents of camp. Special public water posts have been set up for use by EWS (economically weaker sections).
Camp is surrounded by areas such as Parvati Darshan, Deccan Gymkhana, Guruwar Peth, Bhawani Peth, Koregaon Park and Kasba Peth. Property in Camp usually has configurations of 1, 2, 3 and 4BHK.
