Connectivity

The Highways Department has proposed a detailed project report (DPR) for the Peripheral Road project. This road would be useful for commuters travelling to Sriperumbudur and on the Chennai- Highway. The proposed road would connect four National Highways - NH4, NH 45, NH5, NH 205, and five important State Highways - SH 3, SH 57, SH 50, SH 51 and SH 50A. The 78.6-kilometre Singaperumal Koil- Road has been converted into a 4-lane road, Thamaraipakkam to Periyapalayam (12 km), the stretch from Puduvoyal to Pulicat (6 km), Sriperumbudur to Road (18 km) and another 15 kilometre to Kattupalli. Once completed, the 250-km long, Old Madras Road Expressway will connect Hoskote and Sriperumbudur. This road will cut through Venkatagiri Kota and Palamaner in Andhra Pradesh, Hoskote and Malur in Karnataka, Arakkonam, Gudiyatham and Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu.
