Amberpet is an old suburb of Hyderabad. The area is located between Ramanthapur and Kachiguda in the East and stretches from Azadnagar to Vidyanagar towards the south. Amberpet houses several landmarks of the city such as Qutub Shahi Masjid and the Shivam Temple, while the Osmania University is located in close proximity.

The area was known for the open markets that were spread all over. They catered to the needs of households at affordable rates. Most of them have been replaced by supermarkets and allied poultry and dairy establishments.

Amberpet is well-linked via road networks and the Warangal Hyderabad State Highway which passes via Amberpet. The nearest railway station is at Kachiguda, which is a kilometre away. The Kachiguda Railway Station can be reached via the Vijayawada Mumbai National Highway. The nearest MMTS railway stations are Vidyanagar and Kachiguda which are both a kilometre away. TSRTC buses connect Amberpet to different parts of Hyderabad.
