Badlapur is a small town located on the periphery of the politan gion (R) and is virtually divided into two areas, East and West, by the Central Railway track. Sonivali, Manjarli, Katrap and Belavali are some of the prominent areas located close to Badlapur.

NT buses offer transportation facilities to the residents and direct buses are available from Badlapur to Vashi and Badlapur-Belapur (Navi Mumbai). The area is well-connected by local trains which ply round the clock between Badlapur & Mumbai. Badlapur is 57.7 kilometers from the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport via the Eastern Highway.
To make Badlapur more accessible and to reduce traffic congestion, the RDA has proposed a monorail project which would run on elevated height of 25 feet and carry 120-200 passengers per car.
