Srirangapatna is a city in the part of the Mandya district in Karnataka, located towards the south of it. It is situated near Mysore and is an important site according to history, culture and religious. The area is 15 kilometres from the city of Mysore and is enclosed by the Kaveri River towards the northern half. The town can be easily reached by train and road, being off the Mysore Bangalore Highway.
